ITINERARY

DAY ONE: MON, Aug 13 
7:00 am
Depart from Kingston Shrine Club 3260 Princess St. (parking). Regular stops will be made en route. Our destination tonight is in Edmundston, NB at the Chateau Edmundston.

DAY TWO: TUES, Aug 14
We start our day with a continental breakfast, continuing through the province of New Brunswick before arriving in beautiful Prince Edward Island by way of the Confederation Bridge. After crossing this 13-kilometer bridge, we take time to visit the Gateway Village featuring crafts, souvenirs and food pavilions. We make our way to Summerside, our home for the next 4 nights. Summerside’s historic architecture, fascinating museums and nonstop festivals are sure to delight. Our hotel for the next 4 nights is the Quality Inn and Suites, Summerside. After checking into the hotel we will enjoy an included dinner together.

DAY THREE: WED, Aug 15
Enjoy your continental breakfast this morning. Our day begins with a scenic drive towards Charlottetown. Once there, we will enjoy a 2 hour guided tour with a local guide of this capital city where the fathers of Confederation met to create Canada. Following the guided tour, you will have time on your own for lunch. We will meet again in order to claim our seats for the afternoon performance of Anne of Green Gables, the Musical – Canada’s longest running musical. Dinner is included this evening in Charlottetown. Return to Summerside following dinner.

DAY FOUR: THURS, Aug 16
Enjoy your continental breakfast this morning. The fun begins with an informal drive to the “North Shore” area. We will visit the famous Cavendish Beach along with Green Gables Heritage Site and Avonlea Village. You will have plenty of opportunity for pictures so be sure to bring along your camera. During this scenic drive you will see the bright red soil, the rolling hills and quaint fishing villages that make this province a magnificent place to visit. This evening we will enjoy a traditional lobster dinner.

DAY FIVE: FRI, Aug 17
Following our continental breakfast this morning, we start our adventure by heading up to the North Cape. En route we will detour to visit the amazing Bottle Houses.  Here we will witness over 25,000 recycled bottles ingenuously cemented together to create this unique attraction.  Back to the main highway we continue on our northwestern drive, reaching North Cape close to lunch.  Here we will enjoy the spectacular view and learn about the North Cape Wind Farm, which was developed by the Prince Edward Island Energy Corporation; it consists of 16 Vestas wind turbines. Lunch is on your own.This afternoon we will visit the P.E.I. Potato Museum. Located in the community of O’Leary in the western part of Canada’s smallest province, it is surrounded by fertile potato growing fields where the humble potato has played an important role in the economy for many years.  The museum depicts an interesting display of the potato industry, and houses a large collection of farm implements and machinery related to the growing and harvesting of potatoes. In fact, this museum contains the largest exhibit of potato artifacts in the world! Again, we’ll enjoy an included dinner. Following our continental breakfast this morning, we start our adventure by heading up to the North Cape. DAY SIX: SAT, Aug 18
Today we say goodbye to Prince Edward Island and turn our watches back as we travel back across the Confederation Bridge en route to Riviere Du Loup for our final night together. Our hotel this evening is the Hôtel Universel in Riviére du Loup, QE.
