Lately I’ve been hearing a lot about bedbugs in hotels. How does this affect my Maple Leaf Tour?
Bedbugs have received a lot of media attention recently. All travelers must accept the risk that any hotel they stay in anywhere in the world could be the victim of a bedbug infestation. Maple Leaf Tours assumes no responsibility for and cannot be held liable for any bedbug encounters travelers may experience while on our tours. It is advised that travelers take the necessary precautions to avoid staying in a room that has bedbugs. Some quick tips follow here (this list is not inclusive and we cannot guarantee that taking the following action will prevent travelers from encountering bedbugs):
- Always inspect before settling into any room.
- Bring a flashlight (even the keychain LED variety) to aid in your inspection.
- The inspection should focus around the bed. Start with the headboard, check sheets and pillows for blood spots, and pull back the sheets. Check the piping of the mattress and box spring.
- Finally, look in and under the drawer of the bedside table. If all these places are clear, enjoy the night.
- If you can avoid it, don’t unpack into drawers and keep luggage closed on a luggage rack pulled away from the wall. Do not set luggage on the bed.
What is the Group Leader Incentive Program for Maple Leaf Tours?
In an effort to encourage group leaders to organize their groups to enjoy our tours, Maple Leaf Tours is offering an incentive of one free tour for every 20 tour packages sold by the group leader. How much luggage am I allowed?
Maple Leaf Tours allows 1 large piece of luggage and 1 carry on bag per client. Your carry on luggage must fit in over head compartment- keep in mind our overhead compartments are not as large as airplanes. If your carry on luggage does not fit, your carry on will be stored under the coach and you will be responsible for paying the handling fee. On certain overnight tours where you have a stop over at another location on the way to the destination, your larger pieces of luggage will go straight through to the destination and an overnight bag is recommended. Luggage handling may not included when you stay overnight at a hotel on your way to your destination, which is why we recommended an overnight bag that will be stored separately from your larger luggage.
