DAY ONE: JUNE 15
7:30 am Good Morning! Coach boarding will begin at 7:00 am at the Kingston Shrine Club for a 7:30 am departure. With new friends and travelling companions, we will travel east towards the state of Massachusetts. Welcome to MASSACHUSETTS, the “Bay State” and the sandy shores of CAPE COD! Our Local Guide from the Cape will meet us at the RIVIERA BEACH RESORT and will assist with check-in. Unpack, relax, take a stroll on the private beach and bask in the breathtaking oceanfront views of Nantucket Sound. A welcome dinner is included this evening.
DAY TWO: JUNE 16
Rise and shine as the beach greets you! An extended continental breakfast is included this morning at our resort. We begin our Cape Cod holiday as our local guide joins us at our resort and conducts a tour of Hyannis including the John F. Kennedy Memorial, the Korean War Memorial, Hyannisport and a view of St. Francis Xavier Church, the summer parish of the Kennedy Family. With admission on a one hour Hyannis Harbor Cruise, we’ll get to know the local landmarks, popular beaches and other points of interest on your way to the historic Kennedy Compound. There will be free time for lunch and shopping on Main Street Hyannis. You will view the Village Green, the Great Salt Marsh, a Cranberry Bog, and Cape Cod Bay. Sandwich became the site of one of America’s largest glass factories, an industry that flourished during the 19th century. This quaint and quiet seaside community is the hometown of Thornton Burgess, naturalist and author if 170 children’s books. Admission to The Sandwich Glass Museum is included where you can enjoy viewing sparkling exhibits that describe the transformation of a small farming community into one of the world’s most respected manufacturers of 19th century glass. Watch molten glass, drawn from the furnace, blown and pressed into exquisite shapes and visit the distinctive museum shop. This evening dinner is included at the Historic Dan’l Webster Inn.
DAY THREE: JUNE 17
Rise and shine just like the sand and sun on the beach! Again today an extended continental
breakfast is included this morning at our resort. We’ll board our coach and travel to Rhode Island, the “Ocean State”. Welcome to America’s first resort town – Newport. We will meet our local guide at the Newport Visitor’s Center and enjoy a narrated tour that includes the history and lifestyles of some of America’s wealthiest families. Tour the famous Ten Mile Drive, Bellevue Avenue. Enjoy free time for lunch on the historic downtown waterfront filled with cobblestone shopping wharves lines with antique stores, art galleries, speciality shops and
restaurants. Admission is included to tour The Elms. The elaborate Classical Revival gardens include terraces displaying marble and bronze sculptures, a park of fine specimen trees and a lavish lower garden featuring marble pavilions, fountains a sunken garden and carriage house. Admission is included to tour the Breakers Mansion. The Breakers is the grandest of Newport’s summer “cottages” and a symbol of the Vanderbilt family’s social and financial preeminence in turn of the century America. We’ll leave Newport this afternoon and enjoy an included dinner on the way back to the resort.
DAY FOUR: JUNE 18
Ahoy! Again this morning an extended continental breakfast is included this morning at your resort. Our local guide will join us at our resort for a full day of touring. We’ll travel historic Route 6A, the Old King’s Highway, a scenic byway winding through centuries of Cape Cod history. It winds past hundreds of historic structures which characterize its early development. View the Eastham Windmill, a Cape Cod Lighthouse and drive through the Cape Cod National Seashore area. Visit the Visitor’s Center. Sand dunes and the ocean surround you as you approach “Land’s End” – Provincetown. You are not at the extreme top of Cape Cod. Formerly known as the “Province Lands” the pilgrims landed here first before they decided to settle across the Bay in Plymouth. Explore “P-town” your own way – take a dune ride, visit the Pilgrim Museum or climb to the top of the Provincetown Monument. Enjoy a leisurely lunch with a water view and have fun shopping. Your guide will assist with your plans. This afternoon, visit and tour the Truro Vineyards. Learn how they have pioneered the art of maritime grape growing, producing wine with intense flavour and lush varietal character. Enjoy a Wine tasting in the carefully restored 1830’s farmhouse in your very one souvenir glass. You may want to purchase their famous cranberry wine in a lighthouse bottle. A Lobster dinner is included this evening. Alternate entrees will be available for any “landlubbers” not wishing to eat shellfish.
DAY FIVE: JUNE 19
Before we begin our journey home, enjoy the extended continental breakfast once again. Then we’ll depart for home with sand in your shoes, seashells in your pocket and many fond memories of our Maple Leaf Tour to Cape Cod!
