Day 1
Monday, July 6
7:00 am A warm welcome to our fellow travelling friends, old and new, as we get ready for a wonderful adventure to the Magical Maritimes! As you arrive this morning at the Maple Leaf Lounge/Kingston Shrine Club (3260 Princess Street at Collins Bay Road), come on inside to check in with your Maple Leaf Tour Director and meet your fellow travelling companions before we get underway! A scenic drive takes us along the shore of the St. Lawrence River, making stops for coffee and lunch. On our journey are sure to find the most diversified and picturesque bays and coastlines, valleys, and mountain landscapes. We check into the Hotel Universal, Phone 418-862-9520. Relax and freshen up before we enjoy a welcome dinner! (D)
Day 2
Tuesday, July 7
After an included breakfast we’ll depart from Riviere du Loup, making our way to the spectacular Gaspe Peninsula, one of Quebec’s premier vacation destinations. Completely surrounded by water, we spend the day exploring such historical sites as Pointe-au-Père Lighthouse, Canada’s second highest lighthouse. We will overnight in Perce this evening. Our hotel is the Hotel Riotel Perce (800)-463-4212 Situated in the heart of Percé, our hotel-motel faces magnificent Percé Rock. The wharf, boutiques, art galleries and other attractions are a five-minute walking distance from the hotel. A delicious dinner is included this evening at our picturesque hotel. (B) (D)
Day 3
Wednesday, July 8
Enjoy a lovely included breakfast before we depart the hotel. The legendary Perce Rock fascinates visitors and has inspired innumerable artists. Take advantage of the low tide and walk out to this limestone giant. At 9 am, we take a boat trip to Bonaventure Island, enabling us to see the spectacular colony of gannets. We will visit the interpretation centre learning about the history of the island and its unique vegetation. This evening our destination is Campbellton, at the Quality Inn, 506-753-4133. This hotel has coffee and newspapers available in the lobby. (B)
Day 4
Thursday, July 9
After an included breakfast, we’ll depart the hotel, following the Acadian Trail. We will make a stop at the Village Historique Acadien with time to explore the daily life of Acadian families (1770-1949), their customers, their ingenuity, and their warm sense of hospitality. We spend tonight in Miramichi at the Rodd Miramichi River 506-773-3111 . (B)
Day 5
Friday, July 10
This morning we’ll continue following the Acadian Trail, making a stop at Le Pays de la Sagouine. Here we will have an Acadian experience featuring music, plenty of laughter, and an incredible lunch. This afternoon our coach heads toward the Confederation Bridge & Prince Edward Island. This amazing structure is an attraction in itself! We are welcomed at Gateway Village, featuring crafts, souvenirs, and food pavillions. We spend two nights in the harbor town of Summerside at Quality Inn and Suites, phone 902-436-2295. (B)
Day 6
Saturday, July 11
8:30am We depart the hotel for the capital city of Charlottetown. Here we meet our local guide for a 90-minute guided tour. Lunch will be on your own at Peakes Quay. This afternoon our sightseeing continues as we visit the “Land of Anne” We’ll visit Lucy Maud Montgomery’s home, Anne of Green Gable’s house, and Cavendish Beach. This evening we feast on a delicious lobster dinner…an Atlantic Tradition! (Alternate selection available) (B) (D)
Day 7
Sunday, July 12
Depart Summerside back across the Confederation Bridge, we make the short journey into the Province of Nova Scotia where we’ll follow the “Sunshine Trail” onto Cape Breton Island. Our destination is the Bras d’Or area. Known as the Great Inland Sea; Bras d’Or is one of the world’s finest sailing and boating venues. The lake is abundant with wildlife, including the magnificent bald eagle, which claims this region as a major breeding area. We will visit the Alexander Graham Bell Museum before checking into our hotel The Inverary Resort, phone 902- 295-3500. Located on the scenic Bras d’Or Lakes the hotel features a full-service restaurant and lounge, along with a spa. (B)

Monday, July 13
Depart the hotel. Settle in to enjoy one of the most beautiful drives in North America, the Cabot Trail! We have hired a guide for the day to make sure we take in all the sights on the spectacular trail. Half of the trail is located within Cape Breton Highlands National Park. Bring your cameras for this sightseeing day! Tonight, dinner is included at the hotel! (B)(D)
Day 9
Tuesday, July 14
After a lovely breakfast, we’ll depart the hotel, heading toward out destination, Halifax. Our hotel for the next 2 nights is the Courtyard Halifax, downtown Halifax, across from the Halifax Waterfront Boardwalk, Alexander Keiths Brewery and Casino Nova Scotia. Over the next two days we will enjoy all the Halifax has to offer. This afternoon, we will join a local guide for an informative and fun filled ride through the streets of Halifax to learn about the history and culture of the city. Hear of Halifax’s war years and of the exploits and heroism of the citizens who lived through the devastating Halifax Explosion. Visit the Fairview Lawn Cemetery to learn about the local connection to the Titanic Disaster. From tales of disaster and triumph to remarkable stories of everyday life, discover the people and places that have made Halifax one of the most unique and captivating cities in North America! Once we check in, the balance of the day and evening are free to explore on your own so tonight, begin exploring Halifax! Check out some of the fine area restaurants and pubs within walking distance, or test Lady Luck at the Casino Nova Scotia. (B)

Wednesday, July 15
Enjoy breakfast this morning before we set out to discover all the beauty of Nova Scotia! Today we will visit Peggy’s Cove and Lunenburg, stroll along the boardwalk and enjoy as you please! There will be free time to wander and explore on your own this afternoon when we return to Halifax. Possibly visit Pier 21, Maritime Museum or visit the Alexander Keith’s Brewery, located downtown within walking distance of the hotel. This evening dinner is on your own in the bustling hub of downtown Halifax waterfront. (B)
Day 11
Thursday, July 16
After an included breakfast, we’ll depart the hotel. Today we follow the Glooscap Trail to Springhill, home of famed singer, Anne Murray. We take time to visit the Anne Murray Centre that chronicles the childhood and career of the singer. We continue into the Province of New Brunswick, heading for Hopewell Rocks. Hopewell Rocks should prove to be one of the highlights of your tour. Curious rock formations have been formed by the massive tides. We have hired a local guide to educate us on this fascinating attraction, which made the short list on the “New Seven Wonders of the World”. Our destination tonight is St. John, the oldest incorporated city in Canada, located at the mouth of the St. John River. Our hotel this evening is the Delta St. John (506)648-1981. Day 12
Friday, July 16
Our journey continues through New Brunswick as we visit the capital city of Fredericton. We will have a 90-minute guided tour of this historic city then time for lunch on your own. A stop in Grand Falls will round out our sightseeing today before we arrive at our hotel for the evening, once again the lovely Hotel Universal. 418-862-9520. A farewell dinner is included this evening at our hotel. This convention style hotel is equipped with an indoor pool, health centre, sauna and restaurant. (B) (D)

Saturday, July 18
After breakfast, we’ll wind our way back home, filled with fond memories of the fresh salt air, sandy beaches, rustic fishing villages, lighthouses and lobster suppers. Our travels take us through Quebec and Ontario with an early evening arrival and wonderful memories of our Maritime holiday! With thoughts of “Where are we going next?” and smiles galore at the excitement of our next adventure, we part until we meet again! (B)
