Day 1
Sunday, June 21
8:00 am Welcome one and all to the Maple Leaf Lounge at the Kingston Shrine Club (2360 Princess Street at Collins Bay Road). Come on in and say hello to your Maple Leaf Tour Director and meet your fellow travelling companions as we begin our Quebec City holiday! We’ll enjoy a mid morning comfort break on the way.
12:00pm Lunch today is on your own as we stop in Saint-Hyacinthe, on our way to La Belle Province!
4:00 pm Oh La La, You’ll be in awe as we arrive in Quebec City at our hotel, the Hotel Clarendon www.hotelclarendon.com (418) 692-2480 inside the fortification walls! A unique experience at the oldest hotel, dating from 1870, this elegant hotel has been completely renovated for an incredible stay! Located in the heart of Old Quebec, the Hotel Clarendon is across from City Hall, a lovely walk across the park to the world famous Chateau Frontenac and minutes away from La Citadelle de Québec, shops, galleries and restaurants of Quartier Petit Champlain.
5:30 pm Settle in and unpack before we enjoy a delicious included welcome dinner at our Hotel Clarendon. This will be followed by free time to wander the quaint streets of Old Quebec on your own to explore and discover the magic of Quebec! (D)
Day 2
Monday, June 22
7:00 am Every morning in Quebec City, you’ll enjoy a lovely included breakfast in our hotel restaurant. A
wonderful start to your day!
9:00 am The Observatory of the Capital is the perfect stop on our last day in Quebec City so you can have a 360 degree view of Quebec City from 221 meters up! From the 1st floor, the expansive windows offer spectacular views of the Old City, the majestic St. Lawrence and the Laurentians.
10:00 am Enjoy a friendly clash between Generals Wolfe and Montcalm. This 90 minute presentation involves a gun loading competition and military quizzes.
2:00 pm Fortifications of Quebec Walking Tour (Dufferin Terrace experience!) Just in front of the Chateau Frontenac, steps from our hotel. Accompanied by a Parks Canada guide, explore Old Québec, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Learn about the history of the city and its fortifications. As you walk along the fortification’s walls, you will discover some of the city’s best views and even a soldiers’ casemate that is only open for this tour.
5:00 pm We’ll board our coach and travel to a Quebec maple Sugar Shack for a traditional Quebec dinner and festive traditional folklore entertainment! After an enjoyable evening we will transfer back to our hotel. (B)(D)
Day 3
Tuesday, June 23
7:00 am Again this morning, at your leisure, a wonderful included breakfast.
9:00 am Today, a delightful excursion to the Beaupre Coast awaits!! With our local guide, we depart from our hotel as we explore the Quebec Countryside including St. Anne’s Basilica, Montmorency Fall, Albert Gilles Copper Museum! We will also have lunch together at the Manoir Montmorency (the former home of the Duke of Kent) at the top of Montmorency Falls, which are higher than Niagara Falls. After this delightful lunch, we’ll travel tback to our hotel.
2:00 pm Located within the Citadelle of Quebec, the Residence of the Governor General, a remarkable heritage attraction. Discover a place of exceptional beauty! Located in the heart of the Citadelle of Québec and overlooking the St. Lawrence River, this splendid heritage structure has served as the second official home and workplace of Canada’s governor general since 1872. In the company of a guide, discover a unique interior design and a remarkable collection of art and period furnishings. Explore the State rooms and learn about the governor general’s daily responsibilities. The remainder of the day is yours to enjoy as you please. Your Maple Leaf Tour Director will point out some delightful restaurants inside the walled city! Stroll the quaint streets of old Quebec at your leisure, shop, browse or enjoy the beauty that surrounds you! (B) (L)
Day 4
Wednesday, June 23
7:00 am Enjoy breakfast this morning once again at your leisure.
9:00 am This morning, with our local costumed guide, in period attire, we’ll board our coach for a guided tour of Quebec City, including the Plains of Abraham, Cape Diamond, Joan of Arc Gardens, Grande Allee, Quebec City Parliament, Place D’Armes, Place Royale, Avenue Petite Champlain and more. Our morning of touring will conclude back at our hotel at approximately noon and you are free to lunch on your own.
11:30 am Bon Appetit! Free time for lunch (on own) on the Grande Allee.
2:00 pm Approximate departure from Quebec City.
A stop for dinner (on own) will be made on route.
8:00 pm Approximate arrival back at Kingston. (B)
