Day 1
Thursday, Sept 24 - St. Jacobs
8:00 am Good Morning and welcome one and all to the Maple Leaf Lounge at the Kingston Shrine Club, 3260 Princess Street at Collins Bay Road. Come inside, check in with your Tour Director as we prepare for our exciting tour ahead! With our new friends and travel companions, we will begin boarding at 7:30 am for an 8:00 am departure. We begin our travel westward and begin our lovely jaunt to Niagara Falls making a comfort stop along the way.
12:30 pm Let’s head to the delightful St. Jacobs Farmer’s Market! You’ll have time to enjoy this wonderful market and have time for lunch on your own at any of the numerous food areas and explore over 64 one-of-a kind shops.
2:00 pm The Mennonite Story, Log Cabin and Museum. www.mennonitestory.com, We’ll have a guided Countryside tour and a treat awaits us at Kitchen Kutings.
4:45 pm A welcome reception awaits us at the Courtyard Marriott Waterloo St. Jacobs upon check in. Find us in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance of the Farmers Market, the village of St. Jacob’s and the St. Jacob’s Outlet Mall. Enjoy free WiFi, daily hot breakfast. Their friendly and courteous staff will do whatever it takes to make your stay a relaxing and memorable one.
6:15 pm This evening we’ll enjoy a lovely included welcome dinner at Jacob’s Grill as we get to know our fellow travelling friends! (D)
Day 2
Friday, Sept 25 - Walkerton
7:00 am This morning breakfast is included at your leisure at the hotel.
8:00 am We’ll begin our day as we depart for Walkerton
9:30 am Today we arrive in Walkerton for the Plowing Match, in partnership with the Ontario Plowmans’s Association and the local Bruce County Committee. There are scooters available for rent at the gate if you’d like to arrange this on your own. The daily schedule will be posted as soon as IPM releases details.
5:00 pm Tonight we’ll enjoy dinner in Walkerton to wind up a wonderful day at the Plowing Match. Afterwards we’ll return to our hotel in Waterloo /St. Jacobs. (B) (D)
Day 3
Saturday, Sept 26 - Home
7:30 am Once again, enjoy an included breakfast at the hotel before we check out.
9:00 am We’ll visit St. Jacobs Village for time to browse the shops and quaint stores.
10: 15 am Enjoy a quick visit to Picards Peanuts Retail Store, peanuts for more than three decades! https://www.picardsontariogrownpeanuts.com/
11:00 am Mennonite Story Guide will meet us for our touring today! Delightful group visits await!
11:45 am Visit to Shady Lane Greenhouses (mums, pumpkin, gourds). A Mennonite operation where the owners will meet and chat with us! Enjoy a boxed lunch
1:15 pm Winterose Farm Market. The farm of Isaac and Ada Martin. Homemade baking, cheese, meats, vegetables, honey, maple syrup and preserves. The farmer will chat have a discussion with us today, a sure hit with all!
2:45 pm After a great day, we’ll set out for home.
5:00 pm Dinner will be at the Mandarin Buffet Restaurant on our way home – YUM!
9:00 pm Approximate arrival time back to Kingston. (B) (D)
