You can spend the day exploring this outdoor rocky wonderland or savour whiskey on the rocks during a distillery tour, go birding or visit a seal colony, or step into the past at a medieval castle. The extensive group of the Hebrides are divided into two groups — the Outer and Inner Hebrides. Lying off the coast of Western Scotland in the Northern Highlands, these islands are among the most beautiful in the world. The Isle of Skye, one of the larger Inner Hebrides, is best known as the place where Charles Edward Stuart, known as “Bonnie Prince Charlie,” escaped from during the Jacobite Uprising.
