Cape Breton Island is at the eastern end of the Canadian Province of Nova Scotia. Its Cabot Trail is a roadway encircling the island, passing forests and rugged coastline. The drive skirts Cape Breton Highlands National Park, whose Skyline Trail footpath overlooks the Gulf of the St. Lawrence, known for migratory whales. The town of Sydney honours local music with the Big Fiddle, a giant violin statue

Celtic Colours is a Cape Breton Island -wide festival with a wide array of events ranging from fiddle parties in intimate community halls to grand concerts in some of the islands larger venues. Each year, over 300 Artists from all over the Celtic world, including Scotland, Ireland, the United States, Britain and Canada perform at over 30 venues around the island.

Day 1
Tuesday, October 13
7:00 am: Welcome aboard! Sit back and enjoy the scenery as we travel through the provinces of Ontario and Quebec. We will make stops for coffee and lunch. Your wonderful Maple Leaf Tour Director will provide a variety of activities to keep you delighted along the way. Our first overnight will be in Edmundston, New Brunswick at the Four Points Sheraton. We’ll have a welcome dinner together at our hotel this evening. Don’t forget to turn your watches ahead one hour. (D)
Day 2
Wednesday, October 14
After breakfast we continue through the province of New Brunswick, passing through Fredericton as we make our way to Nova Scotia. We cross the Canso Causeway into Cape Breton arriving at our hotel, The Inverary Resort in Baddeck, Nova Scotia. Located on the scenic Bras d’Or Lakes the hotel features a full service restaurant and lounge. Tonight we are welcomed with an included dinner at our hotel. (B) (D)
Day 3
Thursday, October 15
After breakfast in the dining room we will board the coach to explore the Cabot Trail. Sit back and enjoy some of the most amazing scenery in North America. We have a local guide to point out all the highlights. Our day will include coffee breaks, lunch and plenty of photo opportunities, plus some interesting crafts people. We return to Baddeck late afternoon in time to enjoy a wonderful lobster dinner this evening in Baddeck. An alternative entrée will be offered for those who do not wish to partake in lobster. (B) (D)
Day 4
Friday, October 16
Breakfast in the dining room before we continue touring the island. Stops today include Big Pond, then on to Louisburg, home of the Fortress of Louisburg. We will drive by the fortress and spend some time exploring this quaint historical community. Dinner will be on your own this evening before we enjoy the first of the two performances we have included for the Celtic Colours Music Festival! (B)
Day 5
Saturday, October 17
We’ll enjoy breakfast today before our Cape Breton Island sightseeing continues today including the Celidh Trail. We will visit the villages of Port Hood, Mabou, Inverness and Margaree as we witness Mother Natures spectacular colours that Cape Breton is famous for. Lunch and Dinner are on your own today. This evening we will be attending the second of our Celtic Colour Performances. (B)
Day 6
Sunday, October 18
After our included breakfast, we depart this lovely scenic area and retrace our steps back to Edmundston for our last night together. Our hotel this evening is the Four Points Sheraton Edmundston once again where we’ll enjoy a farewell dinner as we reminisce on our happy memories! (B) (D)
Day 7
Monday, October 19
After breakfast we begin the final leg of our travels home. With comfort stops and a lunch break we expect a late afternoon arrival home with thoughts of “Where are we going next”. (B)
