A pine-scented peninsula extending seventy miles into the Atlantic Ocean, Cape Cod is rich in history and bursting with unique and interesting activities. Just a short distance offshore is what has been described as “among the best whale watching in the world”. Onshore, there is enchantment at every turn. Countless historic sites and landmarks tell the proud role Cape Cod has played in American history beginning with the Pilgrims first landing in 1620. It is truly a magical place built on the shifting sands left behind from the last great Ice Age. Our personal guide from the Cape will stay with us for the duration of our stay and will provide a wealth of knowledge as we visit Hyannis, Sandwich, Provincetown, and enjoy all that Cape Cod has to offer. Day 1 Sunday, August 30

Good Morning! Welcome one and all to the Maple Leaf Lounge at the Kingston Shrine Club, 3260 Princess Street at Collins Bay Road. (All departure points and times listed below). Coach boarding will begin at 6:30 am at the Kingston Shrine Club for a 7:00 am departure. With new friends and travel companions, we will travel east towards the state of Massachusetts. Welcome to MASSACHUSETTS, the “Bay State” and the sandy shores of CAPE COD! Your LOCAL GUIDE will meet you at the RIVIERA BEACH RESORT and will assist with check-in. Unpack, relax, take a stroll on the private beach and bask in the breathtaking oceanfront views of Nantucket Sound. At 7:00 pm we’ll enjoy an included dinner next door at the Blue Water Resort. Then we’ll relax as we settle in to our home for the next four nights. (D)

Day 2 Monday, August 31

6:30 am Enjoy an included breakfast this morning at our resort and get ready for an awesome day on the Cape!
8:30 am Your LOCAL GUIDE will meet you at your resort for a full day of touring. You will travel historic ROUTE 6A, the Old King’s Highway, a scenic byway winding through centuries of Cape Cod history. It winds past hundreds of historic structures which characterize its early development. View a Windmill, a Cape Cod Lighthouse and visit the CAPE COD NATIONAL SEASHORE VISITOR’S CENTER. Sand dunes and the ocean surround you as you approach “Land’s End” – PROVINCETOWN. You are now at the extreme tip of Cape Cod. Formerly known as the “Province Lands” the pilgrims landed here first before they decided to settle across the Bay in Plymouth. Take some time to enjoy the wonderful variety of restaurants, shops, and galleries that make this artists/fishermen village so unique.
1:30 pm Board an excursion vessel for an amazing experience of WHALE WATCHING. (3 Hours) You will travel into the natural habitat of a diverse marine environment including birds that migrate here from all over the Atlantic, and fish which use these shallow waters to feed. Try to spot Humpback, Minke, and Fin Whales going about their daily business. An onboard naturalist will introduce you to everything you see and will answer any of your questions about the whales, birds, fish, and lighthouses. OR YOU MAY CHOOSE TO STAY ON DRY LAND: Admission is included on a one-hour DUNE TOUR excursion. You will ride along the shoreline of the protected lands of the Cape Cod National Seashore. Your guide will point out the “dune shacks” where famous artists and writers became inspired to create their art.
6:00 pm Enjoy an included dinner this evening at the Top Mast Café in Truro. (B) (D)

Day 3 Tuesday, September 1

6:30 am Again this morning, breakfast is included at our resort.
8:30 am Your LOCAL GUIDE will meet us at your resort and you will travel to the “south side” of the Cape to the seaside village of CHATHAM.
10:00 am Get ready for an unforgettable outdoor adventure – A SEAL WATCHING CRUISE. Get an up close and personal view of seals in their natural habitat as you cruise out of Stage Harbor or Ryder’s Cove into Chatham Harbor. This 1 ½ hour cruise has plenty of photo opportunities of the Harbor and Grey Seals swimming, sunning, and entertaining you. Next you will view the CHATHAM LIGHT, which has been a lifesaving beacon for sailors throughout the Capes’ history. Chatham’s location at the Cape’s “elbow” makes it very vulnerable to winter storms. Your guide will point out the CHATHAM BREAK and the dramatic changes to the shoreline that have occurred, thanks to Mother Nature. There will be free time for lunch on your own.
2:30 pm Return to your resort to enjoy the rest of the day on your own before an included dinner this evening. (B) (D)

Day 4 Wednesday, September 2

6:30 am Once again breakfast is included this morning.
8:30 am Your LOCAL GUIDE will meet you at your resort and you will travel to America’s Hometown – PLYMOUTH. Home of our Pilgrim Fathers and one of the country’s first settlements, it is well known in the United States for its historical value. A picture stop will be made at the Forefather’s Monument, the largest, solid granite monument in the United States. She stands facing the harbor, welcoming those who come by water. A picture stop will also be made at Plymouth Rock, the traditional site of disembarkation of the Pilgrims in 1620.
11:00 am Embark on a coastal adventure with Plymouth Cruises aboard the Lobstering Eco Tour. Discover the diverse marine life that inhabits historic Plymouth Harbor on this interactive and educational experience. Enjoy a hands-on look at how lobsters are sustainably harvested from their natural habitat. Guests are invited to roll up their sleeves and help haul in real lobster traps alongside our experienced crew, gaining insight into local fishing traditions and coastal conservation efforts. There will be free time for lunch and shopping on your own on the waterfront. You will then travel back to HYANNIS and your guide will conduct a tour including the John F. Kennedy Memorial, the Korean War Memorial, Hyannisport and a view of St. Francis Xavier Church, the summer parish of the Kennedy Family.
6:00 pm LOBSTER DINNER is included this evening at the Lobster Boat Restaurant. Alternate entrées will be available for any “landlubbers” not wishing to eat shellfish. (B) (D)

Day 5 Thursday, September 3

6:30 am One more breakfast together before we check out of the hotel to head home. Depart Cape Cod with sand in your shoes, seashells in your pocket and many fond memories of your MAPLE LEAF TOUR to CAPE COD! (B)
