Day 1 MLT Tuesday, October 6

8:00 am A warm welcome to our fellow travelling friends, old and new, as we meet our Maple Leaf Tour Director and get ready for a wonderful New England Cruise. We’ll depart from the Kingston Shrine Club and travel to wonderful Quebec City! Upon entering this provincial Canadian capital, visitors will think they’ve arrived in medieval Europe. The Lower Town lines the shore of the St. Lawrence River, while in the Upper Town, stone houses front cobblestone streets. The often-photographed Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac hotel overlooks the city from its high perch. Stops on sightseeing excursions include Petit Champlain, the oldest street in North America; Dufferin Terrace, with its superb views of the St. Lawrence River; the Citadel, built in 1820; and Montmorency Falls. We’ll check into our pre-stay hotel before we enjoy a wonderful welcome dinner together! The remainder of the evening is yours to enjoy as you please!

Day 2 MLT Wednesday, October 7

ALL ABOARD!
This morning, we’ll enjoy a guided tour of Quebec City with a local guide. Then it’s ALL ABOARD the NORWEGIAN JEWEL for the next 10 days. You’ll have time to settle into your cabins and get a bite to eat before you explore the ship and we set sail from Quebec City at 5 pm! Quebec City lies on the Saint Lawrence River and is divided by steep bluffs into Upper Town – which includes the old quarter – and Lower Town. Perched atop Cap-Diamant, the old quarter is the only walled city in North America and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Day 3 MLT Thursday, October 8

LA BAIE, SAGUENAY RIVER
The city of Saguenay, most known for its physical beauty and notable artist community, lies on the Saguenay River in Quebec, 200 km north of Quebec City. The city is divided into three boroughs (Chicoutimi, Jonquiere, and La Baie), with French being the predominant language spoken in each. Tourists can visit harbor villages in Chicoutimi, or make way to Jonquiere for enjoy scenic views and relaxing strolls through public parks. Saguenay is also home to a 163-ton aluminum bridge, built in 1950 as a unique replica that is a third the size of its steel counterpart.

Day 4 MLT Friday, October 9

Relax and enjoy the autumn scenery as we sail down the St. Lawrence towards the Maritimes! The Norwegian JEWEL has something for everyone

Day 5 MLT Saturday, October 10

CHARLOTTETOWN, PEI
Charlottetown is the capital city of Canada’s smallest province, Prince Edward Island. This farming island is best known as the setting of “Anne of Green Gables,” the famous 1908 novel by Lucy Maud Montgomery. Walking tours visit the 19th-century homes, and scenic drives pass through the island’s fishing villages. Other major attractions include the House of Green Gables, Prince Edward Island National Park and the shipbuilding museum near Port Hill.

Day 6 MLT Sunday, October 11

SYDNEY, CAPE BRETON ISLAND, NOVA SCOTIA
Nova Scotia means New Scotland, and the sound of bagpipes is not uncommon here. Early Scottish settlers felt the land resembled home. The most popular excursion is a trip to the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Park, an amazing re-creation of a 1744 French fortress. Bird-watchers will want to venture out to Bird Islands to spot the Atlantic puffin and bald eagle. The sinuous Cabot Trail along the coast offers one of the most dramatic drives in North America.

Day 7 MLT Monday, October 12

HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA
Admire the rugged coastline that surrounds Halifax, the world’s second-largest natural harbor. This beautifully preserved city is Nova Scotia’s capital and was founded in 1749. Take steps through history and climb to The Citadel to witness the Old Town Clock. Don’t miss Peggy’s Cove or the Bay of Fundy if you have the chance to take this excursion. This city’s seafaring roots run deep. Displays at the Maritime Museum include models of vessels and a Titanic exhibit. Excursions visit the Citadel National Historic Park, the Nova Scotia Museum, St. Paul’s Anglican Church and the Historic Properties.

Day 8 MLT Tuesday, October 13

BAR HARBOR, MAINE
This coastal attraction has retained much of its charm since its glory days of the 1900s, when America’s elite vacationed here in opulent summer cottages. Surrounding the rock-bound harbor is the world-famous Acadia National Park where the opulence of nature is on display. Lobster, Acadia National Park await you here! Bar Harbor sits on Mount Desert Island, just off the rugged coast of Maine. It is surrounded by Acadia National Park, where beaches, forests and granite cliffs make up some of the country’s most beautiful scenery. Visitors can cruise Frenchman’s Bay, join a whale-watching adventure or enjoy a New England lobster bake. In town, there are shops, museums and art galleries to explore.

Day 9 MLT Wednesday, October 14

PORTLAND, MAINE
Portland offers all the amenities of a big city: art districts, a vibrant waterfront, museums, parks and diverse shopping opportunities. But within minutes, you can be enjoying the view from an historic lighthouse or tasting a juicy, local lobster. ExpIore the cozier side of Maine life with a walk through the woods, a canoe ride or hike the best mountains in New England.

Day 10 MLT Thursday, October 15

BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS
History lies around every corner of this Massachusetts city, which was founded in 1630 with so many historic sites such as the Paul Revere House, Faneuil Hall and the Old North Church. At the trail’s end, you can visit the oldest commissioned warship in the U.S. Navy, the 1797 USS Constitution, also known as “Old Ironsides” — a nickname earned during the War of 1812. Other options include visits to some of Boston’s extraordinary museums, tours of Cambridge, home to Harvard University (just across the Charles River), and burgers and beers at a pub inspired by the TV show “Cheers.”

Day 11 MLT Friday, October 16

AT SEA
Relax and enjoy the autumn scenery as we sail from Boston along the coast to Philadelphia

Day 12 MLT Saturday, October 17

PHILADELPHIA
Admire the rugged coastline that surrounds Halifax, the world’s Hello Philadelphia! Philadelphia means “the city of brotherly love” in Greek, and its diverse population has been fulfilling this motto since this Pennsylvania city was founded by the Dutch centuries ago. The sixth largest city in the U.S., Philadelphia was once the home to the ideas and events that began the American Revolution, and served as the nation’s first capital in the 1790’s. There are numerous historical sites, museums, and galleries. Don’t forget to try its signature food: the Philly cheesesteak. As we say goodbye to the JEWEL, our coach will be waiting! Your baggage will be transferred to the coach for you, all you have to do is disembark and we’ll take care of the rest. We will be joined by a local guide and enjoy a Philadelphia City Tour before we head for home. We’ll make comfort and meal stops on the way. After a brief stop at the Duty Free and clearing Canadian Customs, we will arrive back in Kingston at approximately 10 p.m… With wonderful memories and big smiles, we will be wondering… “Where are we going next?”
