Day 1 MLT Tuesday, August 18

7:00 am A warm welcome to our fellow travelling friends, old and new, and get ready for a wonderful adventure to “The Rock”! Arrive this morning at the Maple Leaf Lounge/Kingston Shrine Club (3260 Princess Street at Collins Bay Road), come on inside to check in with your Maple Leaf Tour Director and meet your fellow travelling companions before we get underway! We start our journey today traveling to St. Hyacinthe mall, where we
stop for lunch. After our brief stop, we make our way to Riviere du Loup, Quebec for our first overnight at the
Auberge De La Pointe, Riviere du Loup, Quebec, Phone 418-862-3514 . Get to know your fellow travelling companions over our included welcome dinner this evening. The rest of the evening is yours to enjoy and explore Riviere du Loup! (D)

Day 2 MLT Wednesday, August 19

We travel at this morning to Cape Jourmain in order to cross the Confederation Bridge. The bridge, which opened in 1997, spans 13 kilometers Charlottetown for the next two nights. Our hotel here will be the Holiday Inn Charlottetown, PEI, Phone 902-892-1201. This evening dinner is on your own in downtown Charlottetown. (B)

Day 3 MLT Thursday, August 20

Today we have a guided tour of the provincial capital. Charlottetown offers Peake’s Quay Wharf, historic George Street, Province House, Richmond Street, Cavendish and the fictional home of the famed red orphan – Anne of Green Gables. The rest of the evening is yours to enjoy and explore Charlottetown! Dinner is on your own tonight. (B)

Day 4 MLT Friday, August 21

Enjoy an included breakfast this morning before traveling to Sydney and enjoy dinner before continuing to North Sydney to catch the overnight ferry to Port Aux Basques, NL. (B) (D)

Day 5 MLT Saturday, August 22

After breakfast we will start our journey up the great northern peninsula through Gros Morne National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to the fishing community of Port au Choix to learn about ancient cultures. We will enjoy an included dinner together and overnight in Port au Choix at the Sea Echo Motel, Phone 709 861-3777. (B) (L) (D)

Day 6 MLT Sunday, August 23

Board the ferry from St. Barbe to cross the Strait of Belle Isle to Labrador. We will spend the night in Labrador at the Northern Light Inn, L’Anse au Clair, Newfoundland, Phone 800-563-3188. Dinner is included tonight for your enjoyment. (B) (D)

Day 7 MLT Monday, August 24

This morning travel to Red Bay National Historic Site, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where the Basques had a whaling station in the 16th century. This mystical place takes the essence of Labrador coastal living and transposes it onto a tapestry of rich culture and history. Return to Newfoundland with (1:00 PM) ferry to your St. Anthony accommodations for the night. Enjoy an included dinner tonight at the Hotel North Phone 709-454-3300. (B) (D)

Day 8 MLT Tuesday, August 25

This morning we travel to L’Anse aux Meadows National Historic Site, the first cultural discovery in the world to receive recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Hear of the Vikings who walked here over a thousand years ago before continuing to Cow Head in Gros Morne National Park for a two-night stay at Shallow Bay Motel, Cow Head, Newfoundland, Phone 709-243-2471. We will enjoy a lovely included dinner tonight. (B) (D)

Day 9 MLT Wednesday, August 26

Discover why Gros Morne National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is truly one of the highlights of your trip with a scenic boat tour on Bonne Bay; be on the look-out for the bald eagles that frequent the deep waters of the fjord. Also visit the Tablelands; this mountain of flat-topped rock of a kind usually found only deep in the earth’s mantle is an awe-inspiring sight. Today will be an unforgettable experience; some say the scenery that Gros Morne offers is unequaled in Eastern Canada. Dinner is included again tonight. (B) (L) (D)

Day 10 MLT Thursday, August 27

Have your camera ready as your time in Gros Morne National Park draws to a close. Travel through Central Newfoundland on to Gander, famous as the basis of the hit Broadway Musical, Come From Away; learn about the hospitality and generosity of the local residents during the aftermath of the September 11, 2001 attacks when 38 airplanes unexpectedly landed there. Visit the North Atlantic Aviation Museum which hosts a variety of artifacts and displays chronicling Gander’s role in the development of transatlantic aviation. We will also stop at the International Air Terminal in Gander, housing the famous Airport Departures lounge reflecting the history of the Trans-Atlantic aviation. Day 11 MLT Friday, August 28

A scenic drive along the rocky coast of Notre Dame Bay leads to the beautiful outport of Twillingate where you will visit Long Point Lighthouse and the Prime Berth Fishery & Heritage Centre. Keep your camera close at hand for wildlife as you drive through Terra Nova National Park and on to Clarenville. Your home for the next two nights is the hotel at the Clarenville Inn, Clarenville, Newfoundland, Phone (709) 466-7911. We will enjoy an included dinner tonight. (B) (L) (D)

Day 12 MLT Saturday, August 29

Today you will experience two quaint, historic towns. First, visit Bonavista, where John Cabot first arrived in North America in 1497. Learn about the hard life of the light keepers at Cape Bonavista Lighthouse Provincial Historic Site before continuing to charming Trinity. Stroll the lanes and explore the many historic buildings preserved from the 18th century. Dinner is included again for us tonight. (B) (L) (D)

Day 13 MLT Sunday, August 30

Continue to the intriguing old seaport of St. John’s, your home for the next three nights. North America’s oldest city and Newfoundland’s capital boosts a stunning location in the granite cliffs and slopes of the Avalon Peninsula. Enjoy a city tour featuring the Victorian architecture of the downtown area, the busy modern waterfront, the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, Confederation Building, and the panoramic view from Signal Hill. Day 14 MLT Monday, August 31

This morning, visit Bay Bulls for one of the highlights of your trip, a boat tour in the Witless Bay Ecological Reserve to search for puffins and other seabirds (whale sightings are weather dependent). Next is a visit to the most easterly point in North America, Cape Spear National Historic Site. The afternoon is yours to explore St. John’s at your leisure. (B)

Day 15 MLT Tuesday, September 1

Today is a free day for you to explore or go back to some of your favorite places in St. John’s! Some wonderful ways to spend your day could include the Geo Centre,
Rooms Museum, the Avalon Mall, or enjoying the shopping and restaurants on Water & George Streets. (B)

Day 16 MLT Wednesday, September 2

Travel back across the island to begin your journey homeward bound. Your overnight stay will be in Corner Brook at the Quality Inn, Corner Brook, Newfoundland, Phone 709-639-8901. (B)

Day 17 MLT Thursday, September 3

We will need to depart the hotel early this morning. Our day today will include the 2.5 hour journey to Port aux Basques then the 6 hour ferry ride to North Sydney.
Ferry departure time is 11:45 am and we must be at the terminal 90 minutes prior to departure. We say goodbye to Newfoundland and begin our ocean voyage to Sydney. Overnight in Sydney at the Holiday Inn Sydney, Phone (902)562-7500. (B)

Day 18 MLT Friday, September 4

Today we take in the breathtaking scenery as we make our way to Nova Scotia’s capital city, Halifax. There will be a lunch stop made onroute. We commence our 3 hour guided tour at 2:30 pm. We will visit the waterfront area, Halifax public Gardens, Titanic Grave Site, and Citadel Hill to name a few sights. The balance of the evening is free to continue exploring on your own. We will have a two-night stay at the Four Points by Sheraton Halifax, Nova Scotia, Phone 902-423-4444. (B)

Day 19 MLT Saturday, September 5

We will depart the hotel for a quick photo opt of one of Eastern Canad’s most scenic attractions– “Peggy’s Cove”, Nova Scotia’s most famous lighthouse. We will continue to old town Lunenburg a UNESCO World Heritage Centre, a walking town with colourful heritage properties, St. John’s Anglican Church and artisan shops. Lunch is on your own along the waterfront. We return to Halifax, and the rest of the day is yours to enjoy this vibrant city! (B)

Day 20 MLT Sunday, September 6

Our journey today takes us through the province of Nova Scotia via Springhill with an opportunity to enjoy Anne Murray Centre and/or Springhill Miner’s Museum. Into New Brunswick for a group photo opt in front of Shediac’s Giant Lobster before continuing on tour to our hotel. We will take time to visit the Magnetic Hill and its shops before continuing on to our hotel for the evening. Overnight at the Delta Beausejour Phone (506) 854-4344. If the moon is at the right phase, we may even experience Moncton’s Tidal Bore from the park behind our hotel.

Day 21 MLT Monday, September 7

Today we make a brief drive-by tour of Fredericton, the capital city of New Brunswick and a brief stop at Grand Falls Gorge, before heading into the province of Quebec. Our overnight destination will be Riviere du Loup at the Auberge De La Pointe, Riviere du Loup, Quebec, Phone 418-862-3514. This evening, dinner will be included at our hotel. (B) (D)

Day 22 MLT Tuesday, September 8

Travelling via St. Jean Port Joli we make a brief visit to Musee Des Anciens Canadiens before continuing to St. Hyacinthe Mall for lunch on your own. We anticipate an early evening arrival back in Kingston. (B)
